Fliss Qualifies for Cross Country State Meet

Megan Fliss is headed to state. The Sterling Senior Girls Cross Country runner punched her state ticket with an effort of 18:36 at the East Peoria Class-AA Sectional on October 29.

Fliss’ time, which was five seconds of her personal record set the week prior at regionals, over the three-mile course, was good enough for 8 th place overall.

Fliss will now compete in the Class-AA State Meet at Detweiler Park in Peoria on November 5.

Sterling failed to qualify for state as a team.
