Golden Warriors Crack A.P. Rankings

Sterling Football is gettin' some statewide love! Just days after knocking off the number one ranked team in class 5A, Metamora, the Golden Warriors have entered the rankings themselves at the #6 position.

"It's a great honor and a nice reward for the hard work our players have turned in," said Sterling Coach Greg King. "But in reality, it doesnt mean much after one game. The challenge now is to live up to that ranking, and I think our players are ready for that."

Metamora dropped to #9 after its 34-20 home loss to the Golden Warriors. Sterling's fellow NCIC-Northeast member Geneseo assended to the #1 spot, followed by NCIC-Southwest power Rochelle at #2.
