Football Shuts Out Streator

It was a successful homecoming for the SHS Football team, as they kept their perfect record alive by shutting out the Streator Bulldogs 26-0 at Roscoe Eades Stadium on September 23.

Sterling scored on its first three possessions:
-A 9 play 57-yard drive capped off by Graham Hall’s 5 yard TD run.
-An 11 play 73-yard drive ended by another Hall TD run from 6 yards out.
-A 2 play 70 yard drive highlighted by Christian Temiquel’s electrifying 65 yard TD scamper up the left sideline.

Just 14-minutes into the game, the Warriors were up 20-0. The offense went a little stagnant from there, committing three turnovers and scoring just one more TD with Hall scoring his third touchdown from 9 yards out midway through the third quarter.

With the Sterling offense slowed a little, the defense was more than up for the occasion allowing the Bulldogs just 68 yards of total offense and 4 first downs. Streator penetrated theWarrior’s 30 yard line just once the entire game.

Hall and Temiqel paced the Warrior offense with 113 yards rushing apiece. Sterling racked up 366 yards of offense – all on the ground.

Next up for the 5-0 Warriors – at 5-0 Geneseo. ‘Nuff said…
