2006 Football Schedule Announced The SHS football team will face three new non-conference opponents next season in a schedule just recently finalized. The newcomers are Chicago (Roberto Clemente) at home in week one, Lemont on the road in week two and Greendale, Wisconsin at home in week three. Clemente competes in the Chicago Public League Big Shoulders Conference. The Wildcats posted a 7-3 record last season and lost to Chicago Marshall in the first round of the Public League playoffs. Lemont is likely to be ranked in the top five in the state (class 5A) when pre-season rankings are released. Last season the team advanced all the way to the class 5A quarterfinals before losing to eventual runner-up Rock Island (Alleman) 24-21. Lemont beat Rochelle 36-7 in the second round. Greendale runs a passing oriented offense, which helped them advance to the third round of the Wisconsin playoffs last season. Sterling is coming off a year that saw the Warriors go 9-0 during the regular season and capture its first NCIC-Northeast title since 1994. The Golden Warriors are trying to qualify for the playoffs for the fifth straight season, which would tie a school record (1991-1995.) 2006 Sterling Golden Warrior Football Schedule * denotes conference game
