Girls Basketball:  Warriors Fall at Dixon

The SHS Girls’ Basketball team fell behind 22-10 after the first quarter in a NIB-12 West game at Dixon Monday and could not recover.  Dixon went on to record a 47-31 win, snapping Sterling’s 23 game winning streak against Dixon, which dated back to February of 2003.

Sterling (13-14, 4-4) held Dixon scoreless for over five minutes of the second quarter, and pulled within four (22-18), but Dixon scored the final six points of the half to take a 28-18 halftime advantage.  Dixon started the second on a 10-2 run to take complete control.

Paige Lobdell paced Sterling with eight points.  Ashli King and Alexis Strong added six apiece for the Warriors.

Sterling won on the sophomore level 44-17.
