Boys Swimming: Warriors Down Newman on Senior Night
The SHS Boys’ Swimming and Diving team wrapped up its dual meet season with an easy 123-57 win over Newman Tuesday at the Duis Center. Sterling won 11 of the 12 events.
In the relay events, Michael Fassler, Keanu Interone, Keaton Dir and Mike Schneiderbauer won both the 200 medley and 400 freestyle. Fassler was joined by Dayton Hayes, John Friedrich and Andrew Blackburn on the victorious 200 freestyle team.
Dir (200 and 500 free), Schneiderbauer (50 and 100 free) and Interone (100 fly and 100 breast) won a pair of individual events each. Fassler captured the 100 back, while Tanner Morse took top honors in diving.
Next Up: The Golden Warriors begin post season competition at the Northern Illinois Independent Conference meet Saturday in Byron. Action begins at 9:00 a.m.
