Boys Basketball:  Warriors Down Morris

Behind 22 points from Chris Fritsch and 18 from Jose Knox, the SHS Boys Basketball team recorded a 70-67 NIB-12 crossover win over Morris Saturday at Musgrove Fieldhouse.

Sterling (10-9) trailed 32-25 at halftime, but started the second half on an 11-1 run to take the lead.  Marcus Robinson and Jose Knox hit three-pointers during the run for the Warriors.

After falling behind 42-38, Sterling then regained control and eventually increased its lead to as many as nine in the fourth quarter.  Morris (10-6) would get as close as two (69-67), but could not come all the way back.

Earlier in the evening, the SHS freshman squad lost to Morris (39-31), but the SHS sophomore team recorded a 66-38 victory.

Next Up:  The Golden Warriors travel to Geneseo Friday (1/27) for a NIB-12 West matchup with the Maple Leafs.  Sterling beat Geneseo 63-47 at Musgrove Fieldhouse on December 2.
