Boys Basketball: Warrior Rally Falls Short The SHS Boys’ Basketball team fell behind 41-22 at halftime in a NIB-12 West clash at Streator Friday, rallied in the second half, but ended up dropping a 67-62 decision to the Bulldogs. The Warriors’ second half charge was led by senior Jose Knox, who set a new school record by hitting eight 3-pointers. He scored 18 of career high 28 points in the second half. Sterling (8-7, 3-1) was able to cut the deficit to two in the fourth quarter, but missed free throws stalled the comeback. The Warriors were just 3-11 from the line in the final quarter and 8-21 for the game. Streator (10-4, 3-1) was led by all-stater JJ Cravatta, who poured in 37 points – 23 in the first half. Next Up: The Warriors next conference game is Friday (1/13) at home against LaSalle-Peru. |
