Boys Basketball:  Warriors Dump Dixon

A 15-2 second quarter surge powered the SHS Boys’ Basketball team to a 64-43 NIB-12 West win over Dixon Tuesday at Musgrove Fieldhouse.

The game was tied at 13 at the end of the first quarter before the Golden Warriors (5-3, 2-0) took control in the second.  Sterling’s defense forced 31 turnovers.

Chris Fritsch and Jose Knox led a balanced Sterling scoring attack with 13 points apiece.  Fritch recorded his second double-double of the season with 10 rebounds.  Patrick Petrosky was also in double figures for the Warriors with 10 points.  Marcus Robinson and Tre Whitaker tallied eight points apiece.

Sterling also won big on the sophomore level to remain unbeaten on the season at 8-0.

Next Up:  The Golden Warriors play a big NIB-12 game at Ottawa Friday (12/16).  The sophomore contest begins at 6:00 p.m.
