Boys Basketball:  Warriors Down Geneseo

The SHS Boys’ Basketball team began defense of its NIB-12 West championship with a 63-47 win over Geneseo Friday at Musgrove Fieldhouse.

Sterling (4-2, 1-0) was able to maintain an up-tempo pace and led by as many as 18 (30-12) in the first half.  Geneseo (1-4, 0-1) did manage to close within eight early in the second half before Sterling was able to gradually pull away.

Sterling shot 63% (26-41) from the field and was a perfect 9-9 from the free throw line.

Chris Fritch scored a career-high 21 to pace the Warriors.  Fritch has scored 41 points in Sterling’s last two games.  Jose Knox and Patrick Petrosky added 13 apiece.

Next Up:  The Golden Warriors host Alleman in a non-conference game Tuesday (12/6) at Musgrove Fieldhouse.
