Girls Track:  Warriors Knock Off Dixon

The SHS Girls’ Track and Field team won a closely contested NIB-12 West duel meet with Dixon.  The Golden Warriors won 10 events, including all four relays, and tallied 72.5 points, with Dixon tallying 64.5.

Sterling received individual wins from Lauren Voss in the high jump (4-10), Lauren Zuidema in the pole vault (10-0), Peyton Cater in the 100 (12.90), Mercedes Sanchez in the 800 (2:32.54), Deborah Romero in the 400 (1:04.91) and Jordan Totten in the 200 (28.24).

Sterling swept the 4x800 (11:48), 4x100 (52.51), 4x200 (1:51.72), and the 4x400 (4:49.43) relays.

Next Up:  The Golden Warriors compete at the NIB-12 Track and Field Championships Friday in Streator.  Sterling hosts the IHSA 2A Sectional May 11.
