Boys Track:  Warriors Win Dixon Invite

The SHS Boys Track and Field team captured the championship of the Dixon Invitational Saturday.  The Golden Warriors tallied 193 points in the A-B-C scored event.  Geneseo was second with 162, followed by Dixon with 149 and Oregon with 125.

Mike Schniederbauer won three “A” events for the Warriors, capturing the 110 (15.14) and 300 hurdles (40.97), along with the pole vault (13-9).  Sterling also received and “A” wins from Dylan Harkness in the 800 (2:00.84) and from its 4x800 relay team (8:18.93).

On the “B” level, Sterling winners were Patrick Petrosky (800), Zach Alston(3200), Eduardo Blancas (110 hurdles), Doug Mikan (long jump) and Gaige Fowkes (triple jump).

Sterling winners on the “C” level were Draque Penaflor (400 & high jump), Keaton Dir (3200), Josh Chromek (110 hurdles), Logan Cheshire (triple jump) and Alejandro Rivera (long jump).

Next Up:  The Golden Warriors travel to Ottawa Monday (4/23) for a duel meeting before hosting the 62nd running of the Sterling Night Relays Friday at Roscoe Eades Stadium.
