Girls Track:  Warriors Place 2nd at Dixon Relays

The SHS Girls Track and Field team placed in the top three in 10 events at the Dixon Relays Thursday, and despite not winning any events, nearly won the championship of the 10-team event.  Geneseo won the final event of the night, the varsity 4x400 relay, and captured the title by two points over the Golden Warriors, 79-77.

Sterling took second place in seven events; the pole vault, long jump, the varsity 4x100 relay and the frosh-soph 4x100, 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800 relays.

The Warriors earned third place finishes in the high jump, shot put and 400 hurdle shuttle.

Next Up:  The Golden Warriors host Ottawa in a dual meet Monday (4/25) at DuWayne Dietz Track. The Sterling Night Relays are scheduled for April 29.
