Girls Track:  Warriors 5th at NIB-12 Indoor

The SHS Girls’ Track and Field team placed fifth at the first-ever Northern Illinois Big-12 Indoor Meet, held Saturday at Westwood in Sterling.  The Golden Warriors ended up in a fifth place tie with Rochelle with 44 points.  Kaneland won the team title with 79.

Individually for Sterling, sophomore Krista Loos picked up a pair of third place finishes in the high jump (5-0) and the 55 hurdles (9.29).   Sophomore Lauren Zuidema was third in the pole vault (9-0).

Sterling’s lone first place effort came in the 4x200 relay (1:51.63).

Next Up: The Golden Warriors host Harlem and Erie for an indoor triangular Tuesday (3/22) at Westwood.  Action begins at 5:00 p.m.
