Track:  Warriors Host 1st Chance Indoor Meet

Sterling hosted the 1st Chance Indoor Meet Saturday at Westwood.  No team scores were kept as the event is an opportunity for competitors to try to post qualifying times for the Top Times Indoor State Meet later this month.

On the girls side, sophomore Payton Cater was a double winner for the Golden Warriors as she captured both the 55 (7.63) and 200 (27.68) meter dashes.

For the boys, senior Corey Hartz took first place in the 55 (6.68).  Sterling’s 4x400 relay team of Hartz, Alex Rodriguez, Aaron Brenner and Kyle Mason was also victorious (3:37.50).

Next Up:  Both squads host indoor triangulars Tuesday (3/15) at Westwood.  The girls take on Moline and Alleman, while the boys match up with Moline and Geneseo.   Action begins at 5:00 p.m.
