Girls Track:  Warriors Host Gold Medal Indoor Meet

The SHS Girls’ Track and Field team opened the indoor portion of its season Saturday by hosting the annual Gold Medal Meet at Westwood.

No team scores were kept, but the Golden Warriors did turn in some notable individual performances.  Sophomore Krista Loos (9.25) and Senior Sarah Schneiderbaur (10.11) went 1-2 in the 55 hurdles. 

Schneiderbauer recorded a win in the 400 meter dash (1:05.45), and another second place finish in the second in the long jump (15.11.75).

Junior Lauren Voss had Sterling only other first place effort as she captured the high jump (5-1).  Senior Nicole Renner recorded a pair of third place finishes on the 100 (7.77) and the 200 (29.25) meter dashes.  Sophomore Lauren Zuidema was second in the pole vault (9-0).

Next Up:  The Golden Warriors host the First Chance Indoor Invitational Saturday (3/12) at Westwood.  Action begins at 9:00 a.m.
