Boys Track: Warriors Bring Home 9 Medals From State The SHS Boys Track team brought home a school record number of medals from this years 2A state finals – 9 to be exact, eclipsing the previous record if six set during the 1950 state finals. The Warriors collected four medals each in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, with senior Corey Hartz also earning a medal in the 400 meter dash. Hartz capped off his spectacular senior season by claiming three medals himself, the most ever earned by a Golden Warrior boy in one track and field state finals appearance. He earned in fifth place medal in the 400 with a time of 49.79. He also ran the anchor leg for the 9th place 4x100 relay team, which clocked in with a time of 45.59. Hartz ran the first let of the 4x400 relay, helping the team to an 8th place finish in a time of 3:25.69. Also earning medals as part of the 4x100 team were senior Brian Commisso, junior Alex Rodriguez and senior Kyle Mason. Junior Alejandro Rivera, junior Aaron Brenner and Mason joined Hartz on the 4x400 team. |
