Boys Track: Warriors Win Triangular in Geneseo The SHS Boys Track and Field team knocked off Geneseo and Dixon in a triangular in Geneseo Tuesday. Sterling tallied 77.5 points, Dixon was second with 65 and Geneseo third with 43.5. Strong overall showings in four events powered the Warriors to victory. Sterling claimed the top two positions in the 100 meter dash with Brian Commisso (11:30) placing first and Corey Hartz (11.36) second. In the 200, Sterling took the top three spots, with Commisso leading the pack (23.41), followed by teammates Kyle Mason (24.04) and Tyler Peugh (24.30). Sterling also earned the top three spots in the pole vault, with Keanu Interone placing first at 12-0. Mike Schndeiderbauer and Josh Chromek finished second and third respectively, both clearing 11-6. In the 800, Sterling claimed the top four positions. Dylan Harkness was first in 2:04.16. He was followed by Aaron Brenner (2:06.06), Jacob Landis (2:11.03) and Robert Clifton (2:14.72). Sterling’s only other win was in the 400, where Corey Hartz took first in a time of 51.89. Next Up: The Golden Warriors compete at the Northern Illinois Invite Friday at Machesney Park-Harlem. |
