Boys Track:  Warriors 4th at NIB-12 Indoor

The SHS Boys’ track and Field team placed fourth at the first-ever Northern Illinois Big-12 Indoor Meet, held Saturday at Westwood in Sterling.  The Golden Warriors won two events and tallied 57 points.  Yorkville won the team title with 88.

Sterling’s first place efforts came from senior Jacob Landis in the 3200 run (9:56.59) and senior Corey Hartz in the 55 dash (6.68).

The Warriors also received a second place effort from junior Mike Schneiderbauer in the pole vault (12-6), and  a third place effort from junior Dylan Harkness in the 1600 (4:40.26).

Sterling’s 4x800 relay team (8:36.90) was second and 4x200 (1:37.00) team was third.

Next Up: The Golden Warriors host Harlem and Freeport for an indoor triangular Tuesday (3/22) at Westwood.  Action begins at 5:00 p.m.
