Girls Tennis:  Warriors Edge Rochelle 3-2

The SHS Girls’ Tennis team traveled to Rochelle Thursday and recorded a hard-fought 3-2 Northern Illinois Big-12 win over the Lady Hubs.  Sterling is now 2-0 on young season.

The Warriors swept the two-singles matches with Johanna Jahns (#1) and Hannah Jakobs (#2) both winning in straight sets.

All three doubles matches went three sets.  Rochelle won at #1 and #2, but Sterling’s #3 tandem of Jennifer Vasquez and Emily Parsons pulled out a 6-4 win in the third set to win their match and secure the team victory.

Note: NIB-12 duels will use a three-match format featuring two singles matches and three doubles matches staged at the same time, meaning players can not play both singles and doubles.
