Girls Golf:  Mellott Shines, Warriors Down Lena-Winslow

Freshman Karlie Mellott shot a five-over-par 39 to lead the SHS Girls’ Golf team to a 201-236 win over Lena-Winslow Wednesday at Wolf Hollow Golf Course.

Mellott’s 39 surpasses her previous season-best of 41.  She was followed by Allie Johnson with a 51, Lynsey Prescott with a 55, Jasmine Anderson with a 56, Rachel McGuire with a 57 and Kate Whitehouse with a 61.

Sterling is now 2-4 for the season.

Next Up:  The Warriors travel to Geneseo Wednesday (9/8) for a triangular with the Lady Leafs and Prophetstown beginning at 4:00 p.m.
