Indoor Track:  Warriors Host Gold Medal Meet

Complete Boys and Girls Results

The SHS Girls and Boys Track and Field teams kicked off the indoor portion of their schedules by hosting the Gold Medal Meet Saturday at Westwood.  Joining Sterling were Dixon, Rock Falls, Geneseo, Oregon and Bureau Valley.  No team scores were kept.

On the girls side, Sterling won five events.  Emily Porter placed first in the pole vault (8-6), Lauren Voss won the high jump (5-0), Christy Hannah took the shot put (32-11) and Mariza Trancoso and Peyton Cater went 1-2 in the long jump at 15-3.5 and 14-7.5 respectively.  The Warriors also won the 4x400 meter relay.

On the boys side, the Warriors top showing took place in the 800 meter run where Kyle Mason and Aaron Brenner went 1-2.  Mason clocked in with a time of 2:09.29, with Brenner right behind at 2:09.54.

Next Up:  The girls squad competes at the Sycamore Indoor Invitation on Tuesday (3/9).  Both squads host the First Chance Indoor Meet Saturday (3/13) at Westwood.
