Girls Cross Country:  Warriors Place 11th at Rock River Run

The SHS Girls Cross Country team placed 11th out of 16 teams at the annual Rock River Run held Saturday at Hoover Park in Sterling.  Geneva was dominant in winning the team title with just 29 points, claiming five of the top 11 finishes, including three of the top four.  Dixon was a distant second with 111.  The Golden Warrior ended up with 278 points.

Junior Stephanie Echebarria was Sterling’s top finisher, in 43rd place in a time of 20:56.

Hannah George was Sterling’s top finisher in the frosh-soph race, in 13th place in a time of 22:09.
