Girls Cross Country:  Warriors Run Past Ottawa

The SHS Girls Cross Country team knocked off NCIC foe Ottawa 20-41 Tuesday at Baker Lake in LaSalle.  LaSalle-Peru also took part, but did not field a complete team.  Sterling recorded six of the top eight times.

Senior Carissa Apperson led the way for the Golden Warriors, in second place overall, with a time of 21:32 over the three-mile course.  Apperson was followed by teammates Mary Rose Dukelow (3rd, 22:12), Stephanie Echebarria (4th, 22:24), Brittany Ellis (5th, 22:47), and Kaitlyn Bradley (7th, 23:40).
