Boys Cross Country: Landis Qualifies for State

SHS junior Jacob Landis is headed to the IHSA 2A state Cross Country Meet. Landis, competing in his third straight sectional meet, broke through Saturday in East Peoria and qualified for state for the first time.

Landis’ sectional time of 16:52 was good enough for 12 th place overall and five seconds ahead of the final individual state meet qualifier.

Sterling’s second sectional qualifier, Andrew McCormick saw his season come to an end Saturday. McCormick clocked in with a time of 18:37.

Landis will next run at the state meet Saturday (11/7) at Detweiller Park in Peoria.
