Boys Cross Country: Warriors Run 4th at Conference The SHS Boys Cross Country team placed fourth at the NCIC-Reagan meet, hosted by Sterling Saturday at Hoover Park. Sterling ended up with 88-points, which was tied with Morris for third, but the Redskins were awarded third as result of a sixth runner tiebreaker. Morris’ sixth runner finished in 28th place, Sterling’s in 29th. Dixon (31 points) edged Geneseo (40 points) for the team title. Jacob Landis was once again Sterling’s top performer, finishing in second place overall in a time of 16:20. Zach Payne of Dixon was the individual champion in a time of 16:19. Other Sterling places/times: On the frosh-soph level, Sterling did not field a complete team. Josh Landis was Sterling’s top finisher, in 6th place in a time of 20:39. Next Up: The Warriors host the Sterling FS/JV Invitational Tuesday (10/20) at Hoover Park. Sterling then begins IHSA post-season action Saturday (10/24), running at the Galesburg 2A regional at Lake Storey Park. |
