Boys Cross Country:  Warriors Place 11th at Rock River Run

The SHS Boys Cross Country team placed 11th out of 15 teams at the annual Rock River Run held Saturday at Hoover Park in Sterling.  Sterling ended up with 317 points.  Belvidere-North claimed three of the top 10 places to take first place with 49 points.  Normal-West was second with 58.

Jacob Landis was Sterling’s top finisher, earning a medal with a 16th place finish in a time of 16:21.

171 runners took part in the varsity race.

Matt Dirks was Sterling’s top finisher in the frosh-soph race, in 43rd place in a time of 19:08.
