Boys Basketball: Ryan Brown Tabbed as New Head Coach Ryan Brown Interview With WSDR's Cathy Wagner From a Brave to a Golden Warrior – that’s the route 29-year-old Ryan Brown is taking as the boys basketball coach at Sterling High School. Brown comes to Sterling after spending the last four years as head coach for the Annawan Braves. Brown led the Braves to 79 wins in four seasons. This past season, Annawan won a school record tying 27 games and finished fourth in the IHSA 1A State Tournament. In all, Brown has nine years of coaching experience, including six as a head coach. Brown becomes the 17th head coach in the history of the SHS basketball program. He takes over for Peter Goff, who accepted the head coaching position at Bloomington High School last month. Brown is a 1998 graduate of Knoxville (IL) High School and 2003 graduate of Western Illinois University. He will teach physical education at SHS. |
