Football: Warriors Draw Kaneland in 5A Playoffs

The SHS Football team is in the IHSA state playoffs for the seventh consecutive year. The Warriors class 5A first round opponent will be Maple Park-Kaneland. Sterling will host the game Saturday, Nov. 1 at 3:00 p.m. at Roscoe Eades Stadium.

Sterling, champions of the NCIC-Reagan, takes a seven game winning streak and 8-1 record into the playoffs. Kaneland is 5-4. The Knights placed fourth in the highly competitive Western Sun Conference.

Sterling and Kaneland met in the quarterfinals of the 2006 5A playoffs, with the Knights recording a heart stopping 52-45 double-overtime victory.
