Cross Country:  Girls & Boys Squads Beat LP, Fall to Dixon

The SHS Girls and Boys Cross Country teams hosted NCIC-Reagan rivals Dixon and LaSalle-Peru Tuesday (9/9) at Hoover Park.

On the girls side, Dixon recorded a perfect score of 15 – taking the top five places.  Sterling was second at 43 and LP third at 81.  Freshman Carrie McPherson was Sterling’s top finisher in sixth place in a time of 21:07.

For the boys, Dixon - ranked #1 in the state in class 3A - took 10 of the top 11 places and won the meet with 17 points.  The Warriors were second at 46, with LP third at 83.  Sophomore Jacob Landis finished fourth for Sterling in a time of 17:06.
