Girls Cross Country Fifth, Boys 12th at Rock River Run

The SHS Girls and Boys Cross Country teams hosted the annual Rock River Run at Hoover Park on Saturday (9/22.) The girls placed fifth with a team score of 138. The boys were 12th with a score of 317.

Sophomore Carissa Apperson was Sterling’s top girls finisher in a time of 20:21, good enough for 11th place overall. Senior Ben Schott set the pace for Sterling’s pack of runners with a 43rd place finish.

Geneva claimed first place honors in both the boys and girls races.
