Girls Cross Country Wins Quad

The SHS Girls Cross Country team claimed a victory over Dixon, LaSalle (Peru) and Fieldcrest on Tuesday (9/4) in a quadrangular held at Bakers Lake in LaSalle.

Sterling tallied 27 points, with Dixon second at 31 and LP third with 82.  Fieldcrest did not field a complete team.

The Warriors grabbed four of the top seven places with sophomore Carissa Apperson claiming medalist honors in a time of 21:13.

Also for Sterling - Kathryn Gericke (22:05) placed fourth, Kelsey Scanlan (22:44) was sixth and Ceara Campos (22:59) seventh.
