Girls Cross County Competes at Peoria Invite

The SHS Girls and Boys Varsity Cross Country teams ran in the Peoria Invitational at Detweiller Park, the site of the state cross country meets, on September 30.

The girls finished 16th out of 39 teams, while the boys placed 36th out of 46.

Freshman Carissa Apperson was Sterling’s top girls finisher in 63rd place (19:50).
Senior Tim Knoll was Steling’s top boys finisher in 118th place (16:36.)

Sterling’s girls and boys junior varsity and frosh-soph teams competed at the Freeport Invitational. A varsity girls race was run at this event, but Sterling only entered a JV team.
