Girls and Boys Cross Country Sweep Grass Relays

The 2nd Annual Sterling Cross Country Grass Relays were held at Hoover Park in Sterling on Tuesday, August 29th.

The SHS Varsity Girls team won their portion of the meet with a score of 17 to Geneseo's 44.

Leading the Lady Warriors was the team of Devon Carbaugh and Kathryn Gehrke who placed 1st in a time of 39:07 for the 6 mile course.

On the boys side of the meet, The Warriors edged out visiting Geneseo with a score of 28 to 29.

Ben Schott and Drew Rowe led the Warrioirs with a 3rd place finish in 33:15 over the 6 mile course. Sterling gave up the first two spots to the visiting Maple Leafs, but grabbed 6 of the next 7 spots to cinch the victory. Dan Chenowith and Nate Silver of Geneseo were the overall winning team with a time of 31:09.
